Privacy Policy

British Local Food is committed to maintaining the privacy and protection of your personal information when you use this website. This privacy policy advises any information we may collect on our website or when someone subscribes to our newsletter and how we use that information.

Please read this Privacy policy before using the site or submitting any personal information. By using the site, you are accepting the practices described in this policy.

How is information collected?

The amount and type of information that we gather depends on the nature of the interaction. Users can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, though it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

We may collect and use non-personally-identifying information such as IP, approximate location, browser type, language, preferences, referring site or date and time of the requests automatically. The purpose of this is to understand how our visitors use our websites and improve user experience to the website, encourage social engagement and promote commercial activities of the website.

We may also collect and use personally identifiable information like name, surname and email address when voluntarily submitted by our visitors, solely with the objective of fulfilling those purposes specified in your request.

If we need to process your personal information for a purpose which is different from or incompatible with that for which it was originally collected, we will provide you in advance with information on that other purpose.

How we use the information we collect?

We will use data for a number of purposes including the following:

  • Newsletter sign up

We collect the information through different sign up forms on the website when you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter and register interest in receiving emails. We may send you emails to keep you up to date with news, send useful information and relevant advice, solicit your feedback and tell you about new products and services.

We gather statistics about email opening and click rates using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our email campaigns.

We don’t trade email lists with any other organisations and businesses.

You may choose to opt-out of receiving our newsletter or stop receiving any further communication from us at any time, by following the unsubscribe instructions included in every email we send you or by contacting us using our online Contact form.

We use a third party provider to deliver our emails and newsletter: Active Campaign, which is GDPR compliant. For more information, please see Active Campaign privacy policy here.

You may decline to share certain personal information at any time, in which case some features may not work as they were intended and this may prevent you from taking full advantage of the service.

If you wish to access or amend any of the personal information we hold about you or want to request that we delete or transfer any information about you that we have obtained from an associated service, you may contact us in the Contact section.
